Committee Position Duty Descriptions President: The president is in charge of coordinating the efforts of the other committee members. He/she will ensure that all committee members are communicating effectively and that other volunteers involved in Outdoor Ambassadors who are not on the committee are kept up-to-date on the committee’s work. He/she makes sure that the activities of the committee and Outdoor Ambassadors as a whole are running smoothly. He/she takes on additional work that individual committee members are unable to complete. The president also takes the lead role in researching grant opportunities and making sure the terms of the existing grants are being fulfilled. He/she takes charge of running committee meetings and assigning tasks. He/she also is responsible for long-term planning and providing organizational leadership. President: Kyle Sherwood Secretary: The secretary is in charge of taking minutes from the meeting and sending them out to all Outdoor Ambassador Volunteers. He/she is also responsible for sending out a bi-weekly email with materials, news updates, and a general club schedule of activities. The secretary will develop a quarterly newsletter (in English or Albanian) that takes picture and written contributions from local Outdoor Ambassador clubs and sends them out to all the clubs around the country. Secretary: Laura Hammett Treasurer: The treasurer is responsible for coordinating money from incoming grants and ensuring it is appropriately distributed. He/she works closely with the president to research grant opportunities and help write grants. He/she is responsible for all bank accounts grant monitoring and evaluation processes. Treasurer: Adam Kirk Camp Coordinator: The Camp Coordinator takes the lead role in planning, organizing, and setting the curriculum for all of the Outdoor Ambassador camps. They determine camp dates, locations, number of participants, schedule of events, transportation, and all other logistics. He/she ensures that all Outdoor Ambassador regional clubs are kept up-to-date on the progress of the camp and he/she is in charge of camp implementation and evaluation. There should be at least 1-2 major camps annually. Camp Coordinator: Libby Horwitz Training Coordinator: The training coordinator is in charge of planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating all regional and national trainings for Peace Corps volunteers, their counterparts, and youth leaders involved in Outdoor Ambassadors. He/she either gives trainings personally, coordinates efforts of other peace corps or local volunteers, or hires professional trainers. There should be at least 1-2 major trainings annually. Training Coordinator: Chris Chaulk Materials Coordinator: The Material Development Coordinator is in charge of finding or creating new educational materials to distribute to all Peace Corps volunteers involved in Outdoor Ambassadors. He/she works closely with the Training Coordinator to ensure that volunteers have all the resources they need to effectively run local clubs and national camps. He/she is also be responsible for updating and distributing the Outdoor Ambassador handbook and other non-educational materials (like tee-shirts, membership cards, etc.) Materials Coordinator: Tiffany Priest |
